Clean Yards
The Township of Tay has several by-laws to ensure that property owners and occupants maintain their property to certain standards regarding property maintenance, waste and litter. This helps ensure that properties are kept safe and in a clean and clear condition.
Property Maintenance
Properties must be maintained so that the height of any grass, weeds and other vegetation does not exceed 20 centimetres (8 inches) in height.
Dead, decayed or damaged trees or other natural growth must be removed if they create an unsafe condition in relation to their location. The Township will only require trees to be removed from private property if they pose an immediate danger to the health and safety of any person on or about the property.
In the Township of Tay, it is prohibited to use any land or structure for storing inoperative motor vehicles or used motor vehicles for the purpose of wrecking or dismantling them except as provided in the Townships Zoning By-law. All vehicles on a property must have valid license plate issued by the Ministry of Transportation.
