2026–2030 Committee and Board Member Recruitment
Tay Township is seeking residents interested in serving their community as citizen appointees on a Township Committee or Board for the 2026-2030 Term of Council.

Application deadline: Monday, November 16, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.
Appointments are available for the following Committees and Board:
Agricultural Advisory Committee (4 members): Three (3) citizen members from the agriculture community and one (1) member who represents the Simcoe County Federation of Agriculture. Provide agricultural perspectives related to Municipal operations and practices.
Audit Committee (3 members): Responsible for overseeing all material aspects of the Township’s financial reporting, control, and audit functions.
Committee of Adjustment (4 members): A statutory tribunal with authority delegated to it by Council, under the provisions of the Ontario Planning Act, to hold public hearings to make decisions on applications submitted to the Township’s Planning and Development Division.
Heritage Committee (4 members): Responsible for advising and assisting Council to ensure that appropriate heritage conservation practices are followed in accordance with the Heritage Act. In addition, the Committee’s mission is to promote the awareness and significance of heritage within the Township.
Horticulture Committee (7 members): To foster civic pride, environmental responsibility and beautification through community participation in horticulture.
Library Board (3 members): Responsible for the operation of the Tay Township Public Library which includes the Port McNicoll, Victoria Harbour, and Waubaushene branches.
Area Recreation Sub-Committees (7 members per Sub-Committee): Four (4) Tay residents and up to a maximum of three (3) residents from the surrounding area. Four (4) Recreation Committees covering the areas of Port McNicoll, Waverley, Victoria Harbour and Waubaushene with the purpose to encourage and support community engagement in recreational activities and events throughout the Township.
Seniors Advisory Committee (6 members): Act as a liaison to enrich and enhance the lives of seniors in the Township, by identifying barriers, forming partnerships with the community, and acting as a public forum for issues affecting seniors.
