Annual Sidewalk Inspections Being Done by Robots this week

With summer in full swing Tay Township is commencing its annual sidewalk inspection program. Be prepared for your sidewalk inspectors to look a little different this summer. This year Tay has partnered with Top Hat Robotics to utilize their sidewalk inspection technology for our annual inspections. Top Hat Robotics is an innovative start-up located in Kitchener-Waterloo. They produce sidewalk robots for a number of work-related use-cases like detecting sidewalk deficiencies. These robots will be inspecting the Township’s sidewalks this week, while being accompanied by a Top Hat Robotics employee.
