County of Simcoe offering alternative options to access 2025 waste collection schedules and information
Due to the impacts and potential delays caused by the recent Canada Post strike, County of Simcoe waste collection calendars will not be mailed to Simcoe County residents in 2025. Instead, the County of Simcoe is offering residents the following convenient options to access their waste calendars for the coming year:
- Simcoe County Collects app: Residents can access their personalized calendar in the Simcoe County Collects app that will automatically display information based on their zone. In addition, residents can receive alerts, look up collection information, and much more in the app. For iPhone users, it can be downloaded in the Apple App Store here or for Android users, it can be downloaded in the Google Play store here.
- E-Calendar: Residents can view a downloadable, online version of the calendar by visiting simcoe.ca/waste.
- Physical Calendars Available for Pick-up: Physical calendars are available for pick-up at the Tay Township Municipal Office, located at 450 Park Street in Victoria Harbour, between the hours of 8:30am to 4:30pm.
- Service Simcoe Contact Centre: General waste collection inquires can be addressed by email service@simcoe.ca or reach out by telephone at 705-735-6901. The Contact Centre can also mail physical copies to households upon request.
“The printed calendar has been a helpful resource for our residents for years, and by offering pick-up locations and downloadable options, we’re still supporting residents who prefer a physical, printed version,” said Warden Basil Clarke. “More and more residents are using our Simcoe County Collects app successfully and it’s truly the best tool to access all your waste collection and waste drop-off facility information. Since there will be both cost saving and environmental benefits of moving away from a mass calendar distribution in 2025, we will monitor feedback and determine the best approach to share this information with residents in 2026.”
