Low water system pressure throughout Tay Township, municipal water users asked to conserve water
For Immediate Release:
Date: May 31, 2021
Time: 1:00 p.m.
Tay, Ontario: We are currently experiencing low water system pressure throughout Tay Township as a result of abnormally high water demands. Low pressure is expected during this time. Please limit water usage as much as possible, this will help prevent a full water ban being implemented.
An update on the situation will be issued by 6:00 p.m. today. Outdoor watering represents a significant portion of the Township’s water demand during the summer months. Residents are reminded that year-round outdoor watering regulations are in place for users of the municipal water system. Outdoor watering is only permitted every other day and between the hours of 7-9 a.m. and 7-9 p.m. Odd numbered houses are permitted outdoor watering on odd calendar days, and even numbered houses are permitted outdoor watering on even calendar days. Individuals who don’t comply with these regulations could be fined $125 or $300 when a water ban is in effect. For full details on the Water Use Regulations by-law visit tay.ca/bylaws
Tay Township is committed to delivering responsive and cost-effective municipal services and infrastructure that provide for the long-term economic, social and environmental well-being of its residents and community.
