Notice of a Public Meeting for a Proposed Temporary use By-Law - 2057 Old Fort Road
THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF TAY NOTICE OF A PUBLIC MEETING FOR A PROPOSED TEMPORARY USE BY-LAW
Take Notice the Corporation of the Township of Tay has received a complete application from Chris Woods, owner of 2057 Old Fort Road, and will be holding a Public Meeting on Wednesday March 27th, 2024, at 6:00 PM to consider an amendment to the Township’s Zoning By-law 2000-57, as amended pursuant to Section 34 & 39 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P.13 as amended.
The Council Meeting will be held in-person in the Council Chambers of the Township Municipal Office located at 450 Park Street in Victoria Harbour and will be broadcasted to the Township’s Youtube Channel at www.youtube.com/@TayTownshipON. Please note that there may be more than one public meeting and that the matter will be heard in the order it appears on the agenda.
Council has not yet taken a position on the application and notice is being circulated to obtain public and agency input.
Purpose and Effect of the Proposed Temporary Use By-law:
The proposed Temporary Use By-law would permit a portion of the property of 2057 Old Fort Road, the purposes of conducting a sawmill business, which consists of vehicle and equipment storage, firewood splitting, storage of logs and wood chips. The applicants have requested that the Temporary Use By-law be permitted for a period up to three (3) years.
A Key Map showing the location of the subject lands is provided with this notice.
Information Available: Pursuant to Section 34 (10.7) of the Planning Act, the Application file is part of the public record and is available to the public for inspection. Any person wishing further information or clarification regarding the application or to arrange to inspect the file should contact the Planning and Development Department at 705-534-7248.
A Scoped Environmental Impact Study has been completed as part of the application submission. A copy of the report can be viewed by contacting the Planning and Development Department as noted above.
Take Notice that any person may make a submission in support of or in opposition to the proposed Amendment to the Zoning By-law. Written submissions regarding the proposal can be sent to the Planning and Development Services Division at planning@tay.ca, or by mail at Township of Tay 450 Park Street, PO Box 100 Victoria Harbour, ON L0K 2A0, facsimile 705-534-4493. Submissions received will form part of the public record, including the name and address of those making submissions. The names and addresses of those making submissions that are received by 4:00 PM on November 22nd, 2023, will be read into the public record, submissions after this time will be summarized in the recommendation report to Council.
If you wish to be notified of Council’s decision regarding the proposed Amendment to the Zoning By-law, you must submit a written request to the Planning Department, Township of Tay, 450 Park Street, PO Box 100, Victoria Harbour, ON., L0K 2A0 or by email at planning@tay.ca.
If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at the public meeting or make written submissions to the Township of Tay before the proposed Amendment to the Zoning By-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Council of the Township of Tay to the Ontario Lands Tribunal and the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Lands Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
