Notice of Public Meeting Regarding Building and Planning Fees and Charges

THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF TAY

TAKE NOTICE that Pursuant to Section 7(6) of the Ontario Building Code Act, as amended, the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Tay has scheduled a Public Meeting to receive comments regarding proposed amendments to building related fees and charges for the Township of Tay. The public meeting will also include a discussion on the proposed fees for planning applications.

AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that following a comprehensive review of the current Building and Planning fees and charges, the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Tay is considering an increase to the existing fees. The fees being proposed are lower than the calculated full cost recovery fees. The proposed fees outlining the changes and the related rationale was presented to Council on August 26th, 2026. During that meeting, Staff were directed to proceed with the fee review using the benchmark methodology – this information can be found online in the Township’s Council Portal (https://tay.civicweb.net/Portal/MeetingInformation.aspx?Org=Cal&Id=473), under item 7.1 of CS-2026-059. A comprehensive fees report will be made available on the municipal website in advance of the public meeting and will also be available on the Council Portal (https://tay.civicweb.net/) by Friday, October 9, 2026.

AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that the Public Meeting is scheduled to be held in-person on the 14th day of October 2026, at 6:00 p.m. At this time, Council will hear comments from all interested parties who wish to speak on the matter. To participate in the meeting, please attend the Municipal Office located at 450 Park Street, Victoria Harbour, ON L0K 2A0.
