Spring Road Maintenance 2025
Spring Road Maintenance 2025
This time of year Tay Township Operations Staff are out across the Township completing annual spring road maintenance to help keep our roads safe and in good condition for everyone.
Street Sweeping
Street sweeping will begin April 14th (weather permitting).
This year, street sweeping will begin in Port McNicoll and Waverley, followed by Waubaushene and will conclude in Victoria Harbour. Municipal parking lots will be swept on Tuesdays. Please be aware that the rotation of street sweeping changes annually. To learn more about street sweeping visit tay.ca/roads
Potholes
A pot hole is a type of failure in a road surface that typically is caused by a combination of traffic and water saturating the soil material under the road.
Should you notice a pothole that needs immediate attention, please contact the Tay Township Operations Team at 705-534-7248 x230 and provide the following information:
- Name of street
- Direction and lane (i.e., northbound, right lane)
- Address of the closest building to pothole
- Cross street information, if available
- Size of pothole

Tay Shore Trail
Trail maintenance will begin as soon as the ice-storm cleanup is complete. Once this is complete (weather permitting), Operations staff will begin:
- Removing winter barriers
- Sweeping the trail
- Clearing debris and completing shoulder work
In May, seasonal park washrooms will begin to reopen and Township staff will be preparing parks, sports fields, picnic tables, and other amenities in time for the May long weekend.
