Swimming Advisory for Albert Street Beach August 2, 2024
Please be advised that the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has issued a swimming advisory for the following beach:
- Albert Street Beach (91 Albert Street)
Tay Township staff have posted signage at the beach to inform beach users.
Please note the previous advisories for other beaches in Tay tested by the SMDHU have been lifted.
For information regarding beach advisories and postings please visit the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit website
A swimming advisory is a warning to swimmers but it is not a beach closure. During a swimming advisory, a beach is posted with warning signs when the water contains levels of bacteria that indicate there may be an increased risk of developing minor skin, eye, ear, nose and throat infections and stomach disorders. If you choose to swim during a swimming advisory it may be prudent to avoid dunking your head or swallowing the water.
