Tay Township asks municipal water users to conserve water to help with Water Treatment Plant process upgrades
Tay, Ontario: To facilitate upgrades including the installation of taste and odour control equipment at the Tay Area Water Treatment Plant, Tay Township will need to operate the water treatment plant at half capacity until mid-June, starting May 5.
In order to ensure that the installation of taste and odour control equipment, as well as an additional water filtration unit, can proceed in a timely fashion, Tay Township is asking municipal water users to be extra mindful in their conservation of our precious water resource between May 5 and June 16.
While the conservation of water is always important, a reduction in water use during this time will help to ensure the success of this important and highly requested project.
The Township would also like to remind residents about the year-round outdoor watering regulations that are in place for users of the municipal water system. Outdoor watering is only permitted every other day and between the hours of 7-9 a.m. and 7-9 p.m. Odd numbered houses are permitted outdoor watering on odd calendar days, and even numbered houses are permitted outdoor watering on even calendar days.
The Township thanks residents for their cooperation and support and looks forward to announcing the completion of the upgrades at the Tay Area Water Treatment Plant later this year. For information about the water treatment plant upgrades visit tay.ca/water.
