Tay Township celebrates Local Government Week

Tay, Ontario: Tay Township joins municipalities across Ontario in celebrating Local Government Week, October 15 to 21, 2023.

Local Government Week is an opportunity for people of all ages to increase their civic awareness, and help everyone gain an understanding of municipal government and its impact on everyday lives. The week was developed by the Province of Ontario, the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks, and Treasurers of Ontario, and the Association of Municipalities of Ontario.

To help kick off the week Grade 5 students from St. Antoine Daniel Catholic School were invited to the Municipal Office where they heard from the Mayor, Council and Staff about their roles and how working together is key to providing the services, programs and facilities that make Tay Township a vibrant and thriving community. 

On behalf of the Mayor, Council and Staff thank you to Ms. Bazinet’s Grade 5 class for celebrating the key role that local governments play in helping to define the character, priorities, amenities and physical make-up of Ontario’s diverse communities.
