Tay Township COVID-19 Impacts to Services Information Update
Tay, Ontario – In support of Provincial efforts and measures to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and in response to the Province moving into a modified version of Step Two of the Roadmap to Reopen, the following measures have been taken to protect the health and well-being of our community members, including residents and our dedicated staff, effective January 5, 2022.
- All Winter Active Living Programs are currently on hold. Program participants have been contacted directly.
- Community Centres and meeting spaces remain unavailable for rental at this time.
- The Tay Community Rink is open for public skating, shinny and private bookings.
- Participants must complete COVID-19 screening questions upon arrival, in addition to showing proof of vaccination for anyone over 12 years of age.
- Change rooms will not be available. Please come dressed for your ice time.
- Public Skating capacity will be limited to a maximum of 85 people.
- Masks must be worn by everyone entering the facility and may only be removed by participants for on-ice activities when 2 metres if physical distancing is maintained.

The Municipal Office remains open to the public weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Public health and workplace safety measures continue to apply to anyone entering the Municipal Office, including maintaining physical distancing and wearing a face covering. In addition, the Township requires members of the Public meeting with or interacting with staff in prolonged "sit-down" situations to be fully vaccinated and show proof of vaccination, or provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result from a test taken within the last 72 hours. - The Tay Township Library is offering Curbside services ONLY. Computer appointments are available upon request, extended computer usage will require proof of vaccination. You can place your holds online, via the Mobile App, or by calling your nearest Library Branch or emailing library@tay.ca. For more information visit tay.ca/library
Members of the Public continue to be encouraged to obtain services over the phone, by email, or via the MyTay.ca portal.
- 2022 Fire Permits can be purchased online at tay.ca/FirePermits
- Tax and water bill payments can be made through your bank either online or at a bank branch. Payments can also be made in the drop box located outside the municipal office.
- Council and Committee Meetings will continue to be held remotely by video and telephone conference. Visit tay.ca/meetings for information on meeting dates, times and on how to participate.
