Tay Township issues complete fire ban
Tay, Ontario: The fire hazard rating in Tay is set to extreme due to prolonged dryness and extreme heat. This means a complete fire ban is in effect, prohibiting any form of open-air burning—including campfires, charcoal barbecues, fireworks and outdoor candles. Propane/gas camp stoves and lanterns are permitted and should be used cautiously and under constant supervision.
If you are burning during the fire ban you may receive a significant fine under the by-law and/or be charged with the expense of the vehicles and personnel attending the fire.
Visit tay.ca/FirePermits or call the Tay Township Fire Permit Information Line at 705-999-5941 for updates on the fire hazard rating. Updates will also be posted at twitter.com/TayTownship.
