Watering ban remains in effect
Tay, Ontario (September 26, 2018, 5:00 p.m.): After weather conditions caused elevated levels of silt in Tay Township’s raw water source late last week, the Township continues to perform around the clock maintenance to keep the water filters clean at the Tay Area Water Treatment Plant.
Water quality is not affected. The water continues to be safe for consumption.
Water production volumes are still below normal and as a result residents may experience periods of reduced water pressure due to demand at peak times. Tay Township is working 24/7 to keep these reduced water pressure events short in duration.
As a result of the reduced water production volumes, the watering ban remains in effect throughout the weekend and until further notice. The ban prohibits all outdoor water use.
Tay Township is also asking residents to continue to conserve water and avoid unnecessary water use until further notice.
