Tay Township Municipal Office Closed to the Public as of April 8, 2021
For Immediate Release:
Tay, Ontario – The Tay Township Municipal Office will close to the public, effective April 8, until further notice in support of Provincial efforts and measures to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and in response to the Provincial emergency declaration and stay at home order.
The Municipality will continue to provide essential services such as fire and emergency services, water, wastewater and roads maintenance services. Our dedicated staff will continue to provide service over the phone, by email and online, and will continue to maintain Township infrastructure. During the municipal office closure the following measures have been implemented to ensure that the Township remains in a position to provide critical services:
· Payments can be made in the drop box located outside the municipal office.
· Payments for tax and water bills can also be made through your bank either online or at a bank branch.
· Current 2021 Fire Permits are available to purchase online at tay.ca/FirePermits
· Dog Tags will not be sold at this time. Please call the Canine Enforcement Officer at 705-534-7248 x248 to register your dog and intent to purchase a Dog Tag once the stay at home order has been lifted. The two dog per household limit remains in effect.
· Building Permit applications will still be accepted at this time. Please call the building division at 705-534-7248 x220 for advice on your particular situation.
· Building Permit inspections are still being conducted. Please contact the building division at 705-534-7248 x220 BEFORE PROCEEDING with work to learn about your options.
· Council and Committee Meetings will continue to be held remotely by video and telephone conference. Visit tay.ca/calendar for information on meeting dates, times and on how to participate.
