Tay, Ontario: Tay Township is pleased to offer live streaming and archiving of Standing Committee and Council meetings via the Township’s YouTube Channel www.youtube.com/@TayTownshipON.
Live streaming and the subsequent video file(s) will be provided as a convenience to our residents and stakeholders, “Although municipalities are not required to video record meetings, we recognize that offering a live webcast and video recording can make council meetings more accessible to interested residents” says Municipal Clerk Katelyn Johns.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic Tay Township committee and council meetings were broadcast over Zoom and were not archived. Moving forward the video recordings of Council and Standing Committee meetings will be retained and made publicly available for 365 days from the date of the meeting on the Township’s YouTube Channel.
Please note that Standing Committee meetings will continue to be conducted virtually via Zoom, and live streamed to our YouTube Channel, whereas Council Meetings will be conducted in-person (based on the current Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit COVID-19 guidelines) in the Council Chambers and broadcast to the Township’s YouTube Channel.
If you have any questions about the streaming or recording of meetings, please contact the Municipal Clerk at 705-534-7248 x240.
Tay Township is committed to delivering responsive and cost-effective municipal services and infrastructure that provide for the long-term economic, social and environmental well-being of its residents and community.
