Tomorrow: Meet the Fleet Returns with New Family Activities and Giveaways

Reminder! Tay Township invites family, friends, and the community to experience the exciting world of Public Works in an up-close and interactive way at Meet the Fleet! 

When: Saturday, May 23, 2026
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Where: Veteran’s Lane, Victoria Harbour 

Residents of all ages are invited to explore a variety of municipal and emergency response vehicles and equipment, meet Township staff, and enjoy hands-on activities throughout the day. 

New Activities Added: 

  • Extrication Demonstration at 1:00 p.m. 
  • “Sign a Plow” for a chance to win one of two youth bikes 
  • Pick up a colouring contest page at the “Sign a Plow” booth and return it to the Municipal Office (450 Park St., Victoria Harbour) before 12:00 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2026, for a chance to win one of two $25 A&W gift cards

Grab lunch! The Royal Canadian Legion Victoria Harbour Branch 523 will be hosting a BBQ. 

Tentative showcase of equipment: Operational Services vehicles, Loader, Grader, Backhoe, Zero Turn Tractor, Plow Truck, Vac Truck, Portable Generator, Ambulance, Fire Trucks, OPP ATVs, Police Cruiser, NT Power Aerial Truck, and Ontario Clean Water Agency equipment. 

In addition to the equipment displays and activities, residents can also connect with Township staff and services during the event: 

Boat Launch Trailer Parking Permits and Dog Tags Municipal Law Enforcement Officers will have a kiosk set up onsite to assist residents and property owners with obtaining 2026 Boat Launch Trailer Parking Permits. Dog Tag Licensing will also be available for purchase during the event. Proof of rabies vaccination is required for dog tag purchases. 

Learn About the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election
Election Officials will also be onsite to provide information and resources related to the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election. Residents can learn how to vote, confirm they are on the voters list, or ask questions about running for Council. 

Please note: This event may include loud noises and flashing lights due to the nature of the equipment and demonstrations. Individuals with sensitivities should take appropriate precautions. 

This free community event is an opportunity to celebrate our dedicated Operational Services and front-line staff who help safeguard and enhance the quality of life in Tay Township.
