UPDATE - Tay Township lifts Fire Ban Effective June 12, 2023

UPDATE:  THE FIRE BAN HAS BEEN LIFTED EFFECTIVE JUNE 12, 2023.

Tay Township issues complete fire ban

Tay, Ontario – The fire hazard rating in Tay is set to extreme due to prolonged dry weather. This means a complete fire ban is in effect, prohibiting any form of open-air burning—including campfires, charcoal barbecues, fireworks and outdoor candles. Propane/gas camp stoves and lanterns are permitted and should be used cautiously and under constant supervision.

If you are burning during the fire ban you may receive a significant fine under the bylaw and/or be charged with the expense of the vehicles and personnel attending the fire.

Tay Fire and Emergency Services is committed to protecting the life and property of Tay residents. Fire Chief Shawn Aymer, Deputy Fire Chief Mike Moore and 76 dedicated volunteer firefighters operate from four fire stations.
