CHIGAMIK (CHEE gah mick) is an Ojibwe word, meaning The People’s Place. The name reflects their commitment to being an organization and a place where all members of the communities are welcome and where their services reflect the diversity of the broader community.
The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, like all 34 health units in Ontario, offers a combination of programs and services, and works on policies and initiatives that protect and promote the health of the populations it serves.
