Tay Township has two wastewater treatment systems, one located in Port McNicoll on First Ave., the other in Victoria Harbour on Industrial Road. The Port McNicoll and Victoria Harbour wastewater systems operate separately and are gravity fed sanitary mains.
Sanitary systems collect wastewater from homes and businesses and carry the flows to the sewage treatment plants for processing before entering the receiving waters. Currently there are nine pumping stations with force mains that pump the sewage to the treatment plants.
Rural residents and residents of Waubaushene have private septic systems which are not maintained by the Township.
